2018 Medicine Hat Little League Minor All-Star
MHLL would like to welcome your player to tryout for the 2017 Minor All-Star teams, for a summer full of fun, exciting, and competitive baseball.
Minor (10U) All-Star is the first opportunity for Little Leaguers to play competitive baseball. All-Star offers the ability for kids to continue on playing baseball into the summer. All-Star is more intense than house league, practices up to 3 times a week and weekend tournaments for June and July are what you can expect.
Minors offers three skill levels:
Minors A - Introduction to competitive level. A mix of Machine Pitch, Kid Pitch 8 and Kid Pitch 9 division players. Focus is on skill development. Practice expectations will be up to 3 times a week with a few tournaments. Minor A level tournaments are difficult to find so most times exhibition games with other “A” level teams are the norm. Minor A teams may attend the Minor AA provincials.
Minors AA - Moderate competitive level. A mix of Kid Pitch 8, Kid Pitch 9 and Minors division players. Practice expectations will be 2 - 3 times a week and tournaments mostly each weekend. Minors AA tournaments are available. The Minor AA team will participate in the Minor AA provincials and should be competitive against the other Minor AA provincial teams.
Minors AAA - Highest competitive 10U level. Team will consist of the best Minor division players. Practice expectations will be a minimum of 3 times a week. Minors AAA tournaments are available and attendance is expected. Attendance at the provincial tournament is mandatory and the focus of the Minor AAA will be winning this provincial tournament.
All-star teams will all have team fees that will be set by the coaches of each of the Minor teams. There will also be volunteer commitments and positions on each team that need to be filled. Parents of All-Star players are REQUIRED to fulfill bingo and casino volunteer positions.
